Who We Are
What We DoThe Free Clinic of Culpeper is a non-profit community based organization that provides confidential medical care and prescription medications to citizens of Culpeper that do not have health insurance or the means to pay for health care. Patients receive medical treatment for many types of illnesses both acute such as bronchitis and chronic such as diabetes or heart disease. If patients’ needs exceed the clinic’s ability to provide treatment, they may be referred for further testing or to a specialist at Culpeper Regional Hospital or the University of Virginia Hospital. Patients receive educational information and opportunities to learn preventative maintenance for medical situations such as diabetes, weight control and heart disease. The clinic operates a licensed pharmacy that provides medications for patients of the clinic. The clinic does not have or prescribe narcotics. Whom We ServeOur patients are uninsured residents of Culpeper who have met eligibility requirements of the clinic. They are adults between the ages of 19 and 64 who are working, seeking employment or disabled that have income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Many of our new patients are without insurance for the first time in their lives. In many cases these patients have lost their job and have serious medical conditions that require continued treatment and medication. |
